Office of Adult Services

The Office of Adult Services' Programs(Adult Protective Services, In-Home Aide Services, Project Home andSocial Services to Adults) focus on the needs of the elderly and thedisabled vulnerable adult. The Office of Adult Services oversees acontinuum of programs within the Community Services Administration, atthe Maryland Department of Human Resources. The Office of AdultServices, in conjunction with local departments of social services andcommunity based organizations, coordinates services for the vulnerableadult population throughout Maryland in order to promote their safety,stability and independence.
MISSION
The mission of the Office of Adult Services is toserve the elderly, disabled, vulnerable person and family membersthrough a home and community based service delivery system. This systemprotects vulnerable persons, promotes self-sufficiency and avoids ordelays unnecessary institutional care or other out-of-home placements.The Office of Adult Services is committed to services delivered in amanner which maximizes a person’s ability to functionindependently, given his/her physical limitations. The services embodythe principles of personal dignity, quality of life, privacy and theright to make choices.
